Hey fans, it’s been a long summer and a lot of things have gone on behind the scenes, but the launch of the new Go Green Tailgate is finally here! We’ve moved to a new host that will support some really cool features. There are still some finishing touches that are being worked on, and over the next we weeks we will continue to give it a good spit polish. (No we aren’t going to actually spit on the screen).

Some of the cool feature that we’ve added and are continuing to work on:

Tailgating Goes Green with Eco-friendly Party Package

New eco-friendly tailgate option makes it’s debut. Provides consumers with added convenience for pre-events cookouts.

Knoxville, TN – February 13, 2010 – Go Green Tailgate has launched one of the first disposable and eco-friendly tailgate products for consumers. In a statement, Owner/Entrepreneur, Brent Boutwell, said,” Manufacturing and retailing eco-friendly products to consumers is a really strong trend for both large and small businesses.”

Go Green Tailgate has partnered with several small wholesalers and manufacturers to group and consolidate event and tailgate related products into a single package that focuses on disposability and convenience for consumers. “Convenience and disposability didn’t used to be synonymous with environmental sustainability.” Brent goes on to add. “Thinking has definitely shifted over the past few years and now there are a lot of products being manufactured out there that people aren’t aware of that can bridge the gap between convenience and eco-friendly.”

Their core product ‘The Original Party Pack’, contains 100% compostable service-ware, two pop-up recycle containers, two disposable grills with a set of disposable tongs. A package built with an emphasis on convenience and disposability showing their commitment to the environmental sustainability message over traditional tailgating products.

Go Green Tailgate looks to focus on retailing their products to consumers who tailgate at sporting events such as college football and baseball, professional football and baseball, and NASCAR. “In addition to the sports market we are also bringing our products to campers, hunters, fisherman, and everyone that may be going to any outdoor event that might want to throw together an impromptu cookout.” says Brent.

When asked about where the idea came from, he stated “I had read an article about the University of Georgia’s problem with all of the trash left after tailgating and started working on finding products that could address the issue. I think there are a lot more of those stories out there and there seems to be a big market for the solution that I’ve come up with.” he added.

With their first event marketing effort, Ole Miss Baseball opening day, Go Green Tailgate looks to bring their green product and message directly to their target audience. Brent went on to say that he was looking forward to speaking with consumers about the products, their green message, and seeing a robust turnout at their tailgate events.

Go Green Tailgate is LIVE!

After months and months of research and testing, we’ve finally gone live with our site. Dedicated to easy, green tailgating. Actually, using the Go Green Tailgate party pack is easier than running around to stores trying to find disposable, ecofriendly products for your tailgate. We have a 97% biodegradable/recyclable product.

Unless you have been on the moon for the past 5 years, going green is the big trend not only in our personal lives but across the business universe. Being good stewards of the environment is a responsibility that we all need to be aware of and participate. Unfortunately this is sometimes easier said than done. Go Green Tailgate makes it easier to become greener with less effort on your part. Providing products that reduce impact on the environment and personal lifestyle, the choice to become green is now easier. (Dare I say a “No Brainer”?)

There are a couple of things to keep in mind. First, our site Go Green Tailgate is going to undergo a number of changes over the next few months. We are going to get better, offering more content, incorporating your feedback, and tightening all of the nuts and bolts of the architecture to bring you the best, funnest, most informative experience possible. Second, you’ll notice a number of new products being added to the site over the next few months that will fit with the original Go Green Tailgate party pack, and for those of you who use your own gear, we’re keeping you in mind too. So keep up to date with the site, our blog, twitter page, and facebook fan page.

Finally, as the owner and architect of Go Green, I need to thank a few people for making this business venture possible. My principle angel investors and my lead cheerleader. I think they can know who they are. And, even though we have just launched, YOU. Yes, you, the customer. You are the reason we are doing what we are doing. Everyone that I have talked to has expressed the desire for a green, easy, convenient way to enjoy tailgating. So if you haven’t heard it yet, thank you. And keep those suggestions coming.
